Interview with SHIN-YI LIN : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. SHIN-YI LIN : With only 2 people living in this spacious house, providing different usage of each and every corner is the first thought, and creating a stress-releasing home is the primary goal. Introducing the smell of woods and greens into the interior space, slowing down the pace and merge into the air of relax. With a smooth and lazy tune, it is a relaxing scene of dancing through the leaf carpets bathing in a sunshine covered field. An atmosphere that could absorb new life and fresh air everywhere is a perfect start for a new home. .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. SHIN-YI LIN : The movements in the house are like dancing curves, neglecting the memorized routes, leading the clients to see their home in many different perspectives and provides little surprises and joy in every corner. Delivering a new concept of living by altering the passage through the house, and make the clients discover new angles of their home every day. .Frank Scott: What are your future plans for this award winning design?. SHIN-YI LIN : Expose this design to other countries. .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. SHIN-YI LIN : It took me about 12~18 months to finish the detail design including the interior furnishing and decoration touches. .Frank Scott: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?. SHIN-YI LIN : The most interesting thing is to break the rule. The rule to be broke in this design is the route. Directing the users to use the interior space with a unique layout creates a different usage in the home they used to live. Not only did the house start a new life but the people living in it obtain new joy. .Frank Scott: What made you design this particular type of work?. SHIN-YI LIN : The layout is more like an liver shaped size than an upright square or rectangle shape. Which makes the floor plan more challenging but also more interesting than a regular one. In order to obtain all the private functions for the clients, 3 main domain is being divided. After the dissecting creates the rhythm in every region that can make automatically give a relax feeling while the interior routes connects each other wherever they go. .Frank Scott: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?. SHIN-YI LIN : Interesting angles can be found everywhere when moving around the mansion. .Frank Scott: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?. SHIN-YI LIN : It is the most important to release everyday stress and refresh him/herself again each and every other day. The space is created to help the users to feel relax and find inner peace after bathing in the busy world. .Frank Scott: What is the most unique aspect of your design?. SHIN-YI LIN : The movements in the house are like dancing curves, delivering a new concept of living by altering the passage through the house. .Frank Scott: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?. SHIN-YI LIN : I just want to share this interesting project to the world. .Frank Scott: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?. SHIN-YI LIN : Realizing the idea into practical objects needs a lot of technical support and a lot of help from many people, somehow the most important thing is the total trust from the client. Very grateful for the belief they have in me. .
